Marineview Chapel History

Located on the west side of Vancouver BC, Marineview Chapel has served the neighbourhoods of Dunbar, Southlands, Kerrisdale, and UBC since 1961. Marineview has roots in the Christian Brethren movement, and a number of its founding members were also involved in founding Regent College.

Over the years, Marineview has always had a strong ethos of “every member” ministry.  Our approach to leadership has shifted from the Brethren vision of lay preaching and leadership, to paid staff who lead and encourage members as they contribute their unique gifts.

Marineview has a legacy as a sending church – we have actively supported missionaries all over the world, and have provided a training ground for those preparing for ministry.  The church maintains strong ties to the youth ministry at Daybreak Point Bible Camp on Anvil Island (also known simply as “Anvil”). Marineview also maintains some connections with its sister and daughter churches in the Greater Vancouver area.

Marineview acknowledges that we live, work, and worship on the unceded territory of the Musqueam, Tsleilwaututh, and Squamish Coast Salish peoples.
