Marineview Chapel is a multi-generational, multi-ethnic evangelical community church. From its beginnings Marineview has valued an “every member” approach to ministry. We encourage our members to participate in church life by growing in their gifts and sharing them with others for the benefit of all.
This emphasis on equipping members of the body of Christ to serve and pastor each other and the neighborhood continues to this day.
Our pastor works alongside the Leadership Team and members of the congregation in caring for the community, and mentoring and discipling people in the way of Jesus.
Various members of the congregation share in the preaching ministry and pastoral care of the church, after they have been affirmed by the Leadership Team and congregation.
Welcoming and loving all people into the joy and freedom of Jesus
Statement of Faith
in the Bible as the inspired, inerrant, living and authoritative Word of God;
in one God, holy, infinite, and sovereign, the Creator of all things, who exists eternally in three personal distinctions, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit;
in the virgin birth, the sinless humanity and the atoning work of the Lord Jesus Christ, who as very God became incarnate, and through His death and resurrection, has procured redemption for all who believe and receive Him;
in the Holy Spirit who bears witness to Christ, convicts of sin, is the Agent of regeneration, and is given to indwell the life of every believer;
in Christ’s Lordship of the Church, in the ordinances of believer’s baptism and the observance of the Lord’s Supper; and
in the imminent and personal return of Christ for His Church and His coming to set up His kingdom in power and glory, to be the judge of all humanity, and to reign in everlasting righteousness.
We believe God has placed us in this Neighbourhood...
· to offer spacious hospitality
a wide-open welcome without condition or agenda
· to share daily life with each other
being companions in all of life's ups and downs
· to create safety to be fully human
at our best and our worst, with room to grow
· to embrace each other's uniqueness
celebrating our God-given potential and enjoying our contributions
· to become more like Jesus
as the Spirit transforms our hearts, minds, and lives in an atmosphere of freedom and simplicity.
